Last week was the annual AQS show in Paducah, KY. Philippa Naylor, (right in photo)our author of Quilting in the Limelight entered this quilt titled, Garden Party. Here are photos of the work in progress.
I waited until 8:31pm the day before the show opened to look online to see if it won a prize, but alas…it didn’t win an award this time. Philippa said this quilt took almost a year to design and create as most of her quilts do. She starts by dyeing her own fabrics and ends by quilting with lots of thread over every square inch of the background. I think it is incredibly beautiful with her amazing signature free motion stitching.
Congratulations to all the winners this year! There were some sensational quilts!
