What a dynamic, energetic, joyful septuagenarian Noriko is! She starts the class by saying, “I want to be your mom today!” And shortly people are calling her for assistance…”MOM!”
There were 22 of us in the class and everyone made a very successful naturescape from tiny matchstick size pieces of fabric. Noriko helped us select a photograph to work from and then we sprinkled our confetti onto the batting. When we got to where we thought it was close to being finished, we’d call ‘Mom’ over and she’d do her ‘magic’ on our piece. I, of course, was skeptical about this so called magic but….she sprinkled on some accent colors and some black fabric the size of sesame seeds and it brought the quilt to life! She did have the magic touch! Everyone was so happy with their piece!
The class was so much fun and we got most of the quilt finished in 6 hours and thoroughly enjoyed the class. If you ever get a chance to take one, I highly recommend it. She’ll be teaching in Houston at Quilt Festival this November again!
Take a look at the class work!
This one is mine in progress.
See a video of how she does this on her website or to buy her book, Confetti Naturescapes, go to our website Dragon Threads.
What beautiful work and a wonderful class to take.
